2nd Day down...

Today was amazing for many people on the team. Began the day with a devotional at the girl's apartment. Chris shared, and then we spent a good amount of time in prayer. Headed over to CalTech for VBS. We're all having a blast with VBS. It's tiring for some of us that run around most of the time, but it's fun. We show up, play games with the kids, help them with crafts, sit with them during storytime, and try and build relationships. Today there was a kid who didn't seem very warm to me yesterday, but today I spoke to him in Russian, and his whole face just lit up. He became my best friend there after that. Everyone is doing a great job serving alongside our Resurrection brothers and sisters. It's such a joy to work with them in this ministry!

Tonight's English Club's went well. Annie shared her testimony. She did a great job! She got to speak to a national for awhile afterwards. She really connected with her. The girl's name is Dasha. Please pray for her. Annie is going to speak with her tomorrow before class. They're meeting up an hour early so that Annie can show her some Scripture! Praise God! English Club gets rough because of it's location at the end of our days, but we spend a lot of time praying, and God's been so faithful to provide us with strength. I told Andrei today how amazing it is to see God's faithfulness everyday. So much in our world is uncertain and untrustworthy, but we are so blessed to serve an awesome God who is unchanging, all-powerful, all sovereign, always faithful and trustworthy!

Thank you for all your prayers. Please continue to pray for Tyler... his foot's looking better than it did yesterday, but not too much better. Ashley and Justin are both sick. We're all getting pretty exhausted, so please pray that we will seek the Lord's strength. Please pray for the people at English Club that God will open their hearts and that we might show His love to them.

Your brother in Christ,
Matt

Glad things seem to be going well, although hectic! The Shepherd's are praying for you all! How's having Kalena there? Is she picking up any Russian? She hasn't gotten left in a taxi or anything, has she? Give the church our love!

Most of you (except for Matt) don't know me but I'll be praying for you just the same. I'll be coming on staff at NCC in September. May the Lord bless you richly as you serve and love these people in His name for His glory!
